An old piece of Americana that will go down in history. This former mall houses a hotel now but the structure is simply amazing snd timeless. Have a quick walk through and see some mindblowing structure work.

The Arcade is a beautiful historic building and one of the most impressive architectural landmarks in downtown Cleveland. The stunning architecture, especially the massive glass ceiling stretching above the atrium, makes this historic place well worth a visit even if you’re only stopping by for a few minutes. It is no longer really a shopping mall, as the upper floors have been converted into a hotel, but the building has been preserved wonderfully and remains a popular venue for weddings and special events. There’s also a chocolate shop and a coffee shop inside, making it a pleasant place to sit and admire the surroundings.

We came here on Thanksgiving Day 2025. Though the stores were closed, we had a wonderful time walking through the arcade, viewing the Christmas-themed storefronts, and simply hanging out. Quite lovely when decorated for Christmas.

Walking through The Arcade Cleveland was such a cool experience. The architecture is incredible, and looking up at the glass ceiling while standing in the middle of the building really made the place feel historic and unique. It was one of those spots that instantly makes you stop, look around, and appreciate the character of the city.

This is one of the top architectural highlights in Ohio. They have a wonderful Hyatt hotel, conveniently located downtown, making it a fantastic place to stay when you're visiting Cleveland. Whether you're an architect, interior designer, structural engineer, or just someone who appreciates interesting architecture, you'll find this place inspiring or great for sketching. Anyone is welcome to visit and spend their time here. Plus, there are plenty of other shops, restaurants, cafes, and ice cream spots to enjoy nearby.

Staying at Hyatt Regency Cleveland at The Arcade was an incredible experience, largely because of the building itself. The Arcade in Cleveland is absolutely stunning. The structure is one of those places where you walk in and immediately stop to look around because the architecture is so impressive. Originally built in 1890, the Arcade feels like stepping back in time in the best possible way. The massive glass ceiling, the intricate ironwork, the balconies lining both sides, and the overall scale of the interior make it feel more like a historic landmark than just a hotel. The amount of detail in the design is incredible, and it’s hard to imagine the level of craftsmanship that went into constructing something like this over a century ago. What really stands out is how beautifully the building has been preserved. The space feels grand and elegant, yet still welcoming. Walking through the Arcade or looking down from the upper floors gives you a view that’s almost breathtaking. It’s the kind of place where you find yourself stopping to take pictures because the architecture is that unique. If you appreciate historic architecture and beautiful spaces, the Arcade is easily one of the most impressive places to stay in Cleveland. The building alone makes the visit memorable.

Some places stop you in your tracks the moment you walk through the door. The Arcade is one of those places. I was not prepared for what was waiting for me inside. Built in 1890, The Arcade Cleveland opened as the very first indoor shopping center in America, modeled after the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II in Milan, Italy, and financed by some of Cleveland's most prominent figures of the era, including John D. Rockefeller. (Theclevelandarcade) That legacy alone makes it worth a visit. Inside, four levels of balconies ring a 300-foot-long covered light court, with vertical columns rising nearly 100 feet to a stunning glass roof, creating a sense of spaciousness and grandeur that is rarely seen in modern architecture. (Architecturalafterlife) It is breathtaking. You genuinely feel like you have stepped into another era. In 1975, the Arcade became the first Cleveland building to be listed on the National Register of Historic Places (Case Western Reserve University) — a well-deserved honor. After years of deterioration, a $60 million renovation in 2001 brought it back to life, and today it is home to a Hyatt Regency Hotel, shops, restaurants, and an art gallery. (Downtown Cleveland) Whether you stop in for a coffee, a meal, or simply to admire the architecture, The Arcade is an absolute must-see. This is Cleveland at its finest. 🏛️✨

Here for a wedding. The place is amazingly beautiful, clean, iconic, and well suited for these events. The staff and service were amazing and the food was really good. The attention to detail was phenomenal! Definitely recommend a visit, just to see the place.

Stunning fine-art classic attraction in Cleveland. As some experts say, it is one of America’s first indoor shopping malls, dating from 1890. With its unique architectural design and daring construction, its exterior is Romanesque Revival—a popular Victorian style from 1875–1900. A Superman movie was filmed here. It has the vibe of quality old money. A fascinating place for a Gatsby-style photo session! Standard time for high standard walking)) Thanks, Rockefeller ;)

The Hyatt Regency at the Arcade in Cleveland is absolutely beautiful—trust me, search “Arcade” and you’ll see what I mean. But from the moment we arrived, the service didn’t match the setting. The front desk experience was lacking—the young woman with the LGBTQ pin didn’t give us a warm welcome. We paid to upgrade for a better view, but that just felt like tossing money out the window. The coffee shop was a win—great coffee, no complaints there. But breakfast? We ordered at 10:35 a.m.—well within the 11 a.m. cutoff—only to have it canceled because they stopped taking cards. So, no breakfast for us. As a loyal Hyatt member, it stung even more when they didn’t honor my rewards or even let me check my account for points. Let’s just say Hyatt will be hearing from me—those points might be looking for a new home. In short, the Arcade is a gem, but this stay left us with a few chuckles and a reminder to bring our own breakfast.
